Get Ready! In late March begins the incredible blooming season of thousands of azaleas in the Norton Botanical Gardens. On 2 April we're inaugurating our first annual Azalea Festival. With 2016, R.W. Norton Art Gallery begins its 50th year! A celebration in November marks the official date of the opening in 1966. Watch these pages each month for more details. In January, take a walk in our garden for the beautiful color in winter--yes, winter, when our camellias are at their dazzling best. In the museum, now in its 50th year, enjoy a new way to view some of our works in the permanent collection in #HashtaggingHistory. The library features works by the western master, Frederic Remington, while our World War I exhibit, Enlist! Art Goes to War, 1914-1918, where 30 posters are part of 100 in our World War I art collection. So begin a new year in the Norton's 50th, here in this museum built as a gift to Shreveport.
